What's On The Easel? Flower Studies

This flower study is all about loosening up and being expressive. The first image is the before and the second, you guessed it, the after. It's a simple process - I start by splashing paint around and making marks. When that layer is dry, I carve into it to create form, refine shadows, add some detail, not too much, then the highlights. Why not give it a try?





The Anemone painting below is a bit more complicated. I made it to canvas, as you can see. However, when I got there, I wasn't so sure, so I went back to the drawing board. The bottom right is the latest study and I'm gravitating towards that. Let's see what tomorrow's eyes say.
